Sustainability at Altanza

At Altanza, sustainability is part of everything we do. Since our foundation, protecting the land and preserving our natural environment have been among our highest priorities. We work every day to reduce our environmental impact—from our vineyards and winemaking process to packaging and distribution. Over the years, we have invested in research and development projects that not only enhance the quality of our wines but also contribute significantly to our long-term sustainability goals.

A Comprehensive Sustainability Program.

Our sustainability strategy focuses on minimizing environmental impact through responsible energy and water management, waste reduction, and sustainable packaging solutions. We prioritize recycling throughout every stage of our operations and carefully select recyclable, locally sourced packaging materials whenever possible.

DIAM Closure Technology

Our bottle, carton, and packaging suppliers manufacture their products using recycled materials from their own production processes. In addition, 40% of Altanza wines are sealed with DIAM closures. Completely free of TCA, DIAM technology guarantees greater consistency and wine quality while allowing us to bottle with lower levels of free sulfur dioxide (SO₂).

Clean Energy & Water Management.

Our winery operates its own geothermal energy system, providing a clean and renewable source of energy, as well as an on-site water treatment facility. At our Valvarés Estate Vineyard, we use aerial monitoring technology to accurately assess vine water requirements, enabling efficient irrigation management and responsible water use.

Vegan Wines & Certified Quality.

All Altanza wines are vegan. We do not use any animal-derived fining agents such as egg whites, milk proteins, or gelatin during the winemaking process. Instead, we use plant- and mineral-based fining agents.

Our commitment to excellence is backed by some of the world’s most demanding food safety, quality, and environmental management standards, including BRC Food, IFS Food, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
